Child Help Foundation has supported critical surgery and treatment of 1,631 underprivileged and needy children. These children come from the most deprived section of society without access to proper medical facilities and healthcare.
Twins of Sheela
The babies of Sheela were 16-days old boys when they were admitted for treatment. Their father, Mr. Satish Satyawana works in a factory and their mother, Mrs. Sheela Satyawana is a homemaker. Mr. Satish lost one of his arms in an accident while working in the factory.
Being born in the 7th month of pregnancy, the twins were diagnosed with low birth weight and mild respiratory distress. They were admitted to the NICU in Neo Clinic, Jaipur, for two months.
The estimated cost of their treatment was Rs. 7,50,000.
CHF helped the family to raise this huge amount of money and supported the family throughout the babies' treatment. They were discharged on 11th November 2021.
P. Jecintha
P. Jecintha is a 7 -year-old girl from Thirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, who was diagnosed with heart disease at the age of 4. She is the only child of Mr. Ponraj Nadar and Mrs. Jaya Mary. Her father works in a store, and her mother is a housewife.
In the year 2018, Jecintha underwent two surgeries in Mumbai. Her father used to work in Mumbai before the pandemic. But he lost his job, and the family had to travel back to their hometown. Jecintha required one more surgery as a part of her treatments at Amrita Hospital, Kochi.
She needed heart surgery, the estimated cost of which was up to Rs. 3,50,000 to Rs. 4,00,000.
CHF helped her family to raise funds for Jecintha's treatment and her surgery was performed successfully. She was discharged from the hospital on 6th November 2021.
Sagar Jana
Sagar Jana is an 11-year-old boy from West Bengal. His father Mr. Panchanan Jana is a daily wage labourer and his mother, Mrs. Dali Jana is a homemaker. In December 2020, Sagar started suffering from persistent vomiting. Concerned about his health, his parents consulted several doctors. After various tests, he was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease, for which he was being treated at the CK Birla Hospital, Kolkata.
The doctors suggested he undergo a kidney transplant. His mother Mrs. Dali is his donor. The estimated cost of his treatment is Rs. 11,78,000.
Being a daily wage labourer, Mr. Panchanan was unable to bear the cost of his treatment. Sagar Jana got admitted to the hospital on 28th May 2021. His surgery was performed successfully and he was discharged on 29th November 2021.
Baby of Priya
Baby of Priya is a 3-month-old baby boy from Andhra Pradesh. His father, Mr. Bhanu Chenna is a farmer, and his mother, Mrs. Priya is a housewife. This baby is their only child.
He was born with a heart defect and also had very low weight. The little boy also suffered from respiratory issues. Worried about their baby's health, his parents took him to the doctor. Through multiple tests, his heart defect was diagnosed leaving his parents distressed. The child was suggested to undergo open-heart surgery and was shifted to the Rainbow Children’s Heart Institute, Hyderabad. The estimated cost of his treatment was Rs.3,50,000.
Baby’s father is the only breadwinner for the family and had urged CHF for support. Our team helped the family to raise funds for their baby's treatment. His surgery was performed successfully on 5th October 2021.
Aditi Waghmare
Aditi Waghmare is a 12-year-old girl from Solapur, Maharashtra. Her father, Mr. Pramod Waghmare works as a daily wage labourer, and her mother, Mrs. Reshma Waghmare is a housewife. Aditi is the eldest child and has 2 younger siblings.
Aditi was born with a congenital heart defect which was not noticed by her family until she was a few days old and would cry constantly. She was taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a heart defect. She was given medication by the doctor and was suggested to undergo surgery for her heart defect which would cost Rs. 3,72,000.
Aditi’s father has been out of work due to the pandemic and was finding it very difficult to arrange finances for her surgery. He then contacted Child Help Foundation for support. CHF helped them raise funds for Aditi's treatment which went successfully. Aditi was discharged from the hospital on 29th October 2021. She is now gradually recovering.
Baby of Manjula
The baby of Manjula is a baby boy who was born in the 8th month of pregnancy. Baby’s father, Mr. Sagar works as a Driver and his mother, Manjula is a housewife. Sagar barely earns enough to support his family of four. Their baby had a low birth weight of 1.5 kgs and was suggested to be kept in the NICU for recovery. The cost of the baby’s treatment was Rs. 6,96,500.
The family was not able to manage the expense of their child's further treatment as all their savings had already been drained for his treatment. The baby needed further treatment for which Sagar had requested Child help Foundation for help.
CHF was able to support the family in their hard times. The baby has now recovered and was discharged on 28th October 2021.
Ahaan Singh
Ahaan Singh, a 3-year-old boy from Punjab, is the only son of Mr. Pradeep, a daily wage labourer, and Mrs. Jyoti Singh, a housewife. Right after Ahaan’s birth, he had difficulty in breathing. He also faced problems with digestion and would throw up immediately after being fed. After various medical tests, he was diagnosed with a heart defect.
He was admitted to the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi, where he was suggested to undergo open-heart surgery. The treatment cost was Rs. 4 lakhs. His family was unable to raise funds to treat their child. CHF helped them by raising funds for Ahaan’s treatment.
Ahaan’s surgery was done on 18th September 2021 and he got a discharge on 24th September 2021. He is currently at home and has recovered from his surgery.
Anitta
Anitta is an 11-year-old girl from Kerala. Her father, Mr. Anthony Gibin works as a fisherman, and her mother, Mrs. Regeena is a housewife. Anitta is their elder daughter and has a younger sister.
Two months back in July 2021, Anitta was severely sick with constant throwing up and headaches. Concerned about her health, she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she had to go through a series of tests. The doctors discovered a brain tumour that needed immediate treatment.
Anitta's parents shifted her to the Lourdes Hospital, Kochi, for further treatment. She underwent a Posterior Fossa Craniotomy and excision of tumour surgery along with chemotherapy and radiation for her recovery.
The estimated cost of her treatment was Rs. 4,00,000. Her father being a fisherman could not afford such a huge amount and contacted Child Help Foundation for help. CHF supported Anitta’s treatment by raising the required funds for her surgery.
Anitta’s surgery was done on 14th September 2021. She was discharged on 22nd September 2021. She is currently on medication and goes to the hospital for her check-ups. Anitta is now gradually recovering.
Ritika Uppara
Baby Ritika is a 1-year-old girl from Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Mr. Rajashekhara Uppara works as a waiter, and her mother, Mrs. Magalamma Uppara is a housewife. Their family consists of seven members. Ritika is the youngest amongst her 4 siblings.
Ritika was born with Thoracic Scoliosis with Sprengel Shoulder. One of her shoulder blades is higher than the other, restricting the normal movements of the shoulders. Ritika is being treated in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bangalore. The doctors treating her suggested that she needed D4 to D8 pedicle screws instrumentation, B12 Facetectomy, deformity correction, fusion with Sprengel shoulder release. The estimated cost of her treatment was Rs.3,80,000.
Ritika’s father, being the only earning person in the family of seven members, was not able to afford the cost of her surgery and hence contacted Child Help Foundation for support. Ritika’s surgery is done successfully and she is recovering gradually. She goes to the hospital for check-ups and follow-ups.
Nitesh Metre
Nitesh is a 5-year-old boy from Belapur, Navi Mumbai. He is the youngest son of Mr. Jagannath Metre, a driver, and Mrs. Vijeta Metre, a housewife. The family consists of 5 members. A month after Nitesh’s birth, his parents noticed that Nitesh did not respond to the sounds around him. Concerned, his parents took him to the doctor. After medical tests were done, Nitesh was diagnosed with hearing difficulty and heart disease.
In 2019, he underwent heart surgery however, he continued to experience breathing issues. To treat him further, another surgery was scheduled, which would cost about Rs. 1,80,000. His treatment was going in the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital, Mumbai.
Being a driver with minimal income, Nitesh’s father is the only breadwinner for the family. Having spent all his savings for Nitesh’s earlier treatments, he was left penniless. With the help of the Medical Social Worker, the family contacted Child Help Foundation for help. Nitesh’s surgery was done successfully and he is now recovering gradually.
Sinjini Pandey
Sinjini Pandey is the 1-year-old baby girl of Mr. Saikal Pandey who works in a private company, and Mrs. Rituparna Pandey who is a housewife. Baby Sinjini was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major right after her birth and was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, New Delhi, for her treatment. The doctors said that she needed a Stem cell transplant which would cost Rs 15,00,000/-.
Having no fixed income, Sinjini's father could not arrange the finances for the baby's treatment. They got in touch with Child Help Foundation for help. After the necessary verifications, CHF supported Sinjini’s treatment by raising the amount required for the transplant.
Aaradhya Sathe
Aaradhya Sathe, the 5-year-old daughter of Mr. Sanjay and Mrs. Rina Sathe, is the youngest among her siblings. She has an elder brother of 15 years and an elder sister of 17 years. Her father works in a petrol pump with a very low income and her mother is a housewife. Aaradhya suffers from Thalassemia Major. Doctors said that she would require a Bone Marrow Treatment (BMT) surgery to fix Thalassemia which would cost ₹ 10,50,000.
When CHF was notified about this case by the Medical Support Worker (MSW), the team did a thorough background check and started raising funds to help the little girl. Aaradhya’s sister was her BMT donor. Her Bone Marrow Transplant was done in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai. After the transplant, she was kept under observation for about 22 days in the BMT ward. Aradhya’s BMT was successful and she is gradually recovering.
Sneha Tarkase
Miss. Sneha was born with “Congenital Heart Disease”, which was diagnosed when she was 2
years old. She had undergone two open heart surgeries. Sneha’s Upbringing was done by a single
parent, her mother Mrs. Shakuntala Tarkase who was working as a tailor. Sneha was 4years
when she lost her father. Since that day Sneha and her younger brother were taken care by their
mother. Things become worse when Sneha started falling ill frequently.
Even after 2 heart surgeries Sneha’s health condition did not improve. This is when the doctor
suggested Sneha’s mother that she requires a pacemaker installation. Sneha’s mother being a
single mother and the only bread winner in the family approached Child Help Foundation for
financial help for her daughter’s treatment. The family gave a sigh of relief when Child Help
Foundation raised the required funds. The unusual and complex surgery was done successfully.
Sneha has now recovered completely and leaving a normal life. She is currently studying in Std
12th,Commerce.
Athmika Binu
Athmika (8months) is a baby daughter of Binu (Father) who is a driver by profession and Reshmi (Mother) is a housewife. Athmika is their firstborn child. Residing in Kanhira Maliyil House in Kasargode, Kerala. Athmika suffered from Congenital Agenesis of Sternum a rare chest wall malformation resulting from failed midline fusion during embryonic development. Athmika’s father earns an income of Rs 36000/- annually.
Athmika before intervention used to continuously suffer from pain in her chest and suffered from a respiratory problem. The sternum or breastbone is a long flat bone located in the central part of the chest that connects to the ribs via cartilage and forms the front of the rib cage which helps to protect the heart, lungs, and major blood vessels were partially missing in Athmika.
This case was referred to Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. A team of cardiac surgeons, Anesthetists, and Plastic Surgeon were involved in helping Athmika attain a normal life. The Child was given special provisions of ICU (Bed and nursing), Blood Processing, Ventilatory Support, and other medicines.
Athmika is recovering faster and will get a discharge from the hospital soon.
Baby of Saroj patel
The infant of Mrs. Saroj Patel and Mr. Nilesh Patel were admitted to “Surya Hospital “ with problems of “extreme prematurity with extremely low birth weight, respiratory distress syndrome, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia”. Baby were kept on mechanical ventilation support, IV fluids, and IV antibiotics.
Mr. Nilesh Patel(Father) was working in service with an income that was barely making par. It was very difficult for him to cope up with this expense. So, “Surya Hospital” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation. After 11 weeks of treatment, the baby were declared healthy and were successfully saved.
Harshad Shaikh
Harshad Shaikh aged 3 months, was admitted to “Surya Hospitals” with severe Pneumonia with respiratory failure. He was to be kept on ventilator support for 2 weeks, the cost for which was estimated to around 3.5 – 4 lakhs. Mr. Asif Shaikh (father) worked as a mechanic to support the family of 3 and it was really difficult for him to cope up with the expense of treatment. So, “Surya Hospitals” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation. Realizing the criticality of the situation. After 2 weeks of treatment, the child was discharged and now he is in a healthy condition.
Puneet Prajapati
Mast. Puneet Prajapati was a year old when he was diagnosed with “ Major congenital heart defect, Tetralogy of Fallot and severe pulmonary stenosis with frequent cyanotic spells despite medications”. The permanent cure recommended by the doctors of “Sir. H.N Reliance Foundation” was an early Total correction and the surgery was major open-heart surgery.
However, doctors of the hospital ensured a high success rate of surgery. Mr. Dineshkumar Prajapati(Father) worked as a sales executive at a pharmacy to support the family of 6. It was really difficult for him to bear the expense of the surgery. So, “Sir H.N Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation. Realizing the criticality of the situation. After a month the baby was successfully operated and completely recovered.
Vinayak Thapa
Mst. Vinayak Thapa at the age of 7 months was diagnosed with "Tetralogy of Fallot". Intracardiac Repair of TOF was advised by the doctors of “Jupiter Hospital”. The cost of surgery was estimated of Rs.2,35,000/-. Bharat Thapa(father) was working as a driver to support the family of 7 members and was unable to bear the expenses of the surgery of his child. Worried about the critical condition of their child, parents contacted Child Help Foundation.
After a month the baby was successfully operated and has made a complete recovery
Baby Durva Rathod
Baby Durva was 4 months old when she was diagnosed with "Congenital heart disease, Large S/P, coarctation ballon dilation, Large PDA, hypoplastic arch". The only permanent treatment was an open heart surgery (Aortic arch repair). However the doctors of "Bai Jeerbail wadia hospital for children" made sure that the baby completely recovers after an surgery. Durva's father Mr. Gajanan Rathod is a worker and a sole earner in the family of consisting 3 members. Bearing the expense for treatment was difficult for him. So, MSW of "Bai Jerbai wadia Hospital for children" referred this case to Child Help Foundation. After a month the baby was successfully operated and completely recovered.
M.Sathriyan
Mast M.Sathiriyan, son of Mr.Muthu Kumaran and Mrs.M.santhi was diagnosed with “Down’s syndrome, Tet canal, large conoventricular, VSD” at the age of 10 months. The treatment suggested by the doctors of “Amrita Institute of medical science” was AV canal repair through surgery. However, the doctors made sure that the baby completely recovers after surgery.
Mr. M.Santhi(Father) worked as a construction worker and was barely earning enough to support the family of 4 members. So, “Amrita Institute of medical science” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.After a month the baby was successfully operated and completely recovered.
Baby of Soumya
80 days old son of Mr. Bineesh M B and Mrs. Soumya N R was diagnosed with “ Type II Truncus arteriosus Large Conoventricular VSD with left and right shunt”. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors was a heart surgery (Truncus repair+handmade conduit surgery ) Father of Baby Mr.Bineesh works as a Nurse and was barely earned enough to support the family of 3. In such a critical situation, it was difficult for him to bear the expense of surgery. So, “Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Center” referred this case to Child Help Foundation. Realizing the criticality of the case After a month the baby was successfully operated and completely recovered.
Baby Krishna Dev
Baby Krishna at the age of 2 years was diagnosed with “Primembranous VSD with a left to Right Shunt”. The permanent cure was Open heart surgery (VSD Closure). However, Doctors ensured a high success rate of the surgery Mr. Rajesh CP (Father) worked as Auto-Rickshaw Driver to support the family of 5 members, bearing the cost of surgery was challenging for him. So, the “Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and research center” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation. Realizing the criticality of the case After a month the surgery was carried out and the baby has fully recovered.
Baby Kavistri
Baby Kavistri was diagnosed with “Tricuspid atresia/ NRGA, S/P PA Band”. The permanent cure recommended by the doctors of “Amrita Institute of Medical Science” was an Open Heart Surgery (Cath+ BDGS). Kavistri’s Father Mr. Balamurugan worked as a painter to support the family of 4 and was barely keeping up with the family expenses. So, the MSW of “Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences” referred this case to Child Help Foundation. After a month the surgery was carried out and the baby has fully recovered.
Simran Ansari
While returning from the grocery shop on the eve of New Year 2019, Simran’s dress caught fire near the burning garbage. The 8-year-old could not manage to put out the fire on her own. She was rushed to “Family Care Hospital” for treatment. Simran suffered a 48% burn, which severely affected her waist, feet, leg, and back portion of her body. She immediately was taken to the ICU. She needed aid with everything, so she was put on oxygen. For her nutritional needs, she was totally dependant on the saline drips. Skin Grafting has to be carried out on Simran. Mr.Naseem Ansari(Father) worked as a Taxi Driver and bearing the expense for such treatment was challenging for him. Parents worried about the critical condition of their child. So, “Family care Hospital” referred this case to Child Help Foundation.After a month of treatment, Simran has recovered successfully and is in good health.
Maira Shaikh
Maira was a year old when she was diagnosed with “Congenital Heart disease, Right Isomerism, Common AV Canal defect, Supracardiac unobstructed TAPVC, ostium primum ASD, Large inlet VSD, DORV, severe valvar, and subvalvular pulmonary stenosis”. The treatment as recommended by the doctors of “Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children” was an Open Heart Surgery(TAPVC Repair + BDGS).
Mr. Quddus Shaikh(Father) worked as Driver and the earning was quite limited, it was challenging for him to raise the expense for the surgery. So, MSW of “Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Pritam Mandal
Pritam Mandal was 5 years old when he was diagnosed with “heart disease, Large OS ASD, Dilatedd RA/RV, Mild flow acceleration across (L) UPV”. The treatment for which was an open heart surgery ASD device closure. However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery. Mr. Surajit Mandal(father) worked as a construction worker and bearing the expense for such surgery was quite challenging for him. So, MSW of “Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Hemant Naik
Mast. Hemant was a year old when he was diagnosed with “Congenital Heart Disease, Severe valvar and sub-valvar pulmonary stenosis, BDGS + Atrial Spectectomey + LPA plasty, Large ostium ASD with bidirectional shunt”. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors of “Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children” was Cardiac Cath-lab intervention (LPA stenting). However, the doctors ensured a high success rate of the surgery. Mr.Vijay Naik(Father) worked as a rented Driver and the earning was barely making par with the family expense, Bearing expense for such treatment was quite challenging for him. So, MSW of “Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Bhargavi Jadhav
Bhargavi Jadhav at the age of 6 years was diagnosed with “Large Ostium Secundum ASD”. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors of “SL RAHEJA HOSPITAL” was an Open Heart surgery(ASD surgical closure). However, the doctors ensured a high success rate of the surgery. Mr. Anish Jadhav(Father) worked as an employee at an Ice-cream parlor, it was challenging for him to cope up with the expense of the surgery. The parents were worried about the critical condition of the child. So, “S L RAHEJA HOSPITAL” referred this case to child help foundation.
Baby Yogita Sonawane
Baby Yogita was born with the congenital Heart Disease (Large VSD). The cure recommended by the doctors of “New Age Wockhardt Hospital” was an Open Heart surgery (Large VSD closure). However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery. Mr. Bhagwat Sonawane was a farmer and was working on scarce to support the family, bearing the expense for such a surgery was quite difficult for him. The parents were worried about the worsening condition of their child as the days passed. So, “New Age Wockhardt Hospital” reffered this case to Child Help Foundation.
Raghav Shinde
Mast. Raghav Shinde was 18 months old when he was diagnosed with “Ostium Secumdum ASD with left to Right Shunt”. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors of “Sahyadri Hospitals” was an Open Heart surgery (ASD/VSD Surgical closure). However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery.Mr. Bhalchandra Shinde(Father) worked as a labour in a private company and was barely keeping par with the expenses to support the family of 5, it was quite challenging for him to raise the expense for the surgery. The parents were worried about the critical condition of their child. So, MSW of “Sahyadri Hospitals” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Bhumi Dalvi
Miss Bhumi Dalvi was 6 years old when she was diagnosed with “congenital heart disease Tetralogy of Fallot, Large subaortic VSD, Severe infundibular and valvar pulmonary stenoisis, LPA origin stenosis, PDA”. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors of “Bai Jerbai Wadia hospital for children” was an Open Heart surgery (TOF repair + LPA plasty + PDA ligation). However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery Mr. Namdev Dalvi (Father) worked as a house helper and was barely keeping up with the expense to support the family of 4, it was challenging for him to bear the expense of the surgery. So, MSW of “Bai Jerbai Wadia hospital for children” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Ajeesh K.R
Mr. Ajeesh K.R was diagnosed with “Tetrology of Fallot, S/P ICR+TAP”. The permanent cure was pulmonary valve implantation through Open Heart Surgery. However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery. Mr. Rajan(Father ) worked as a coolie and was barely keeping up with the expenses to support the family of 4 members, It was really difficult for him to arrange the expenses for the surgery. Parents were worried about the critical condition of their child. So, “Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences” referred this case to Child Help Foundation.
Khushi Sunder Lal
Baby Khushi was diagnosed with “ Patent Ductus Asteriosus, Dilated LA/LV” at the age of 4 months. The permanent cure as recommended by the doctors of “Fortis Hospital” was PDA device closure through Open Heart Surgery. However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the surgery Mr. Sunder Lal (Father) worked as a labourer and was unable to bear the expense for such costly surgery. Parents were worried about the critical condition of their daughter. So, MSW of “Fortis Hospital” referred this case to the Child Help Foundation.
Along Aier
Mast. Along Aier was diagnosed with the “Hodgkin’s Lymphoma” at the age of 19 years. The suggested permanent cure for which was chemotherapy, radiotherapy by the doctors of “Eden Medical Center”. However, the doctors ensured the high success rate of the treatment Along’s mother Ms. Amenlia worked multiple part-time jobs to support the family of 2, it was quite challenging for her to bear up the expense of the treatment. So, MSW of “Eden Medical Center” referred this case to Child Help Foundation.
